I am fairly new to qcad and getting on quite well I have been using layers successfully.
Now I select a layer and as soon as I click to start entity the layer switches off. I am able to draw the line etc but have to re select layer for next one. I cannot see why this should be. Help please.

Most QCAD drawing tools draw on the current active layer.
This layer is indicated by a pencil icon in the Layer List on the same row as the layer in question.
You simply have to select (click) a layer once and then it becomes the active layer.
It will stay the current as long as you don't select or 'manipulate' another layer in the Layer List.

Thank you for your reply. I was just about to post an update. After having a break I went back to my drawing. Layers are working now. Must have been some sort of finger trouble on my part but I honestly do not know what. If it happens again I will try to be more explicit with my explanation of the problem.
