I have an Acer Aspire Go 14 and am trying to install QCad Professional without success. I am 85 years old and getting a bit unsure of what is happening.
I would like help to get QCad running from the downloading of the Zip file through to seeing it up and running. Can anyone explain what I need to do in simple step by step instructions. Any help please ?

Re: How do I install QCad Professional
Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
You didn't specify which OS you are using.
Installing from ZIP can be placed anywhere on your system.
Windows:
Download the ZIP for your OS and stored it away in a dedicated folder.
Extract the ZIP to files and folders.
Typically a right-click on the ZIP file in the file explore lets you chose that.
Lookup qcad.exe in this newly created structure and start it.
A desktop shortcut must be created manually.
File association is required to start QCAD when opening a DXF/DWG from the explorer.

EDIT I have carried out the first part of your advice and now have a folder named QCad3.32.2-pro-win64 when I open this folder I have an icon in the first column (left hand) and it says qcad beside it and in the 'Type' column it says Application would this be the file to click on to get started ?

Re: How do I install QCad Professional
It is possible that you refer to the QCAD folder what is in uppercase.
Associated with an icon representing a folder in yellow.
The qcad.exe (lower case) is typically located in that folder associated with the QCAD icon.
It is possible the your file explorer does not show the suffix 'exe' by preference.

Re: How do I install QCad Professional
Thanks again CVH. I have double (left) clicked on that icon and it opened up on screen as expected. When it opened it put an icon on the taskbar and I did a right click on that and now have QCad available from the taskbar.
Someday I may find out how to get an icon on the desktop.
Thanks again

Re: How do I install QCad Professional
Right-click on the desktop.
New .. Shortcut and take it from there.
Windows need to know what application to start and in what path.
When considered as solved, please add [SOLVED] to the title of your initial post by editing it.
