I can open some 20 000 kB files but I can't work on it. Each operation takes so many times... have I to upgrade or the problem will persists ?

Hi my Qcad version 3.29.3
I can open some 20 000 kB files but I can't work on it. Each operation takes so many times... have I to upgrade or the problem will persists ?
