Linux/Chromebook download

Post by donvl » Mon Oct 14, 2024 9:16 am

H im using a 64bit asus chrombook plus and debian 12.
The process for getting an executable of the trial QCAD is/was extremely technical and tedious. Hwever with lots of assistance i now have a version that i launch from penguin with the command qcad.sh.
There is no way, without more help, that i can find andvdetete the pro files to convert to a long term free version.

Im happy to buy the pro version, but am daunted by the possibility of having to go through that whole process for the new download, andvas i read it for each update.

Is my assumption correct or is the purchased package, and future updates, easily executable?

QCAD is linux based, as far as i know, all the extra work was carried out within linux not chrome, so why is it made so difficult.

I have previously downloaded librecad with no probs.

Installing QCAD should be as easy as download, make executable and run (based on the installer) or extract and run (based on the tar.gz).

Perhaps, you can shed a bit more light on why you found the installation difficult?
